Yeah, it was pretty unfortunate. I told him though that he can trade his 360 pre-order for the PS3 version and play it on my upstairs PS3. :)
Superconductivity at 43K? Hovering trains here we come!
Don't hold your breath for a US release. OTA programming is much better in the UK (and other parts of Europe) than it is here. Sony probably believes that most US PS3 owners would have little use for it.
I feel pretty bad for my friend. His 360 broke last month and just got it back last week. Well, the repaired console scratched discs. So, he had to send it back again and now he won't have it in time for GTAIV.
The open source stance by Sony could be the greatest asset of the PS3. With Yellow Dog Linux and now Fedora, the PS3 will be replacing my desktop computer.
Blu-Ray is a disc format. The information it holds is not data specific, so content can be 1080i, 720p, and 1080p, for example. DVD-9 can hold 1080p, just not as much as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.
By now, the chances of getting a PS3 are slim if you don't have a pre-order already. People have been lined up since last night to pre-order the PS3 at Toys R' Us which will happen Sunday! One can only imagine how hard it will be to get one on launch day.
Thus, this topic heading of getting a launch title is pretty much pointless. I guess the author of the article did too since it seemed he was more focused on whether or not one should get a PS3 at all, not specifically a la...
My friend and I found out about the 29th preorder on Thursday and we were planning on getting there at 10 tonight. We went by earlier to see the line, and 25 people were in there and our TRU is only accpeting 5 preorders. Luckily, I got my GS preorder but my dad wanted one for a blu-ray player. Ah well, I'm still really lucky :)
At least there is a hope. You make it sound better if Sony never announced this at all. At least now there is a chance that this could happen. Stop hating for once in your life or just get out of here.

"There will also be game demos and movie trailers to download. All of the demos and trailers shown had "Free" next to them, so it looks like you won't have to pay for them. There will soon be full movies available for download."
I hope so. The thought of paying for demos makes me sick. Why should the consumer pay for advertising? I don't pay to see the commercials in the break of my TV shows, so why should I pay for this advertising? Well if they aren't ...
"for people who don't buy the 60GB PS3, a memory card reader will debut at $14.99."
The 60GB version has SD/compact flash/memory stick card readers, NOT a memory card reader. The $14.99 accessory will be for PS2/PS1 memory cards and will connect via USB. Therefore, both PS3 versions will need this adapter in order to transfer files from older PlayStation systems. I'm just trying to clear up some misinformation :)
"Pats toppled by the Bills"
Yeah, Madden!
Did I also mention that the Sabres are 7-0 and #1 in the NHL? Who cares about the storm and lack of electricity when we've got this going on?
For the reecord, I love this site and how it displays the news info in such an organized manner compared to some other forum sites.
However, I disagree with the mods of this site very often. I mean, how does this news story get published, and the following news get rejected:

From Fekz on ps3forums.com:

"1000 charges on a lithium battery until it loses 20% effciency. 30 hrs per charge. 30 thousand hours of gaming.
If you used your PS3 controller 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for one year, you'd use 8,736 hours of controller life. That doesn't included downtime for charging.

Yes, it is bad for some people that the PS3 will not ENHANCE PS2 games. However, it may still upconvert 480i/480p PS2 games to HD resolutions (720p/1080i/1080p). The article said:
"Upscaling games to output at a higher resolution, like what happens to Xbox games on the Xbox 360, could still be a possibility."
Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, GOOD-BYE
"$500 20GB/ no HDMI model?"
The lower version does have HDMI. Plus, this same news story was submitted earlier and was rejected.
I really wish sometimes that Sony would not announce what they are going to do. It's just like how you're supposed to under promise and over deliver (as opposed to over promising and under delivering).
Compare the following situations:
1. Sony announces Home
2. People get excited
3. Sony announces delay
4. People are pissed
5. Sony releases Home
6. People couldn't care less after such a long delay
Now wouldn't this have be...
